                      the pursuit of the project is to create something in between the natural phenomena & the building structure. the work starts from an environmental analysis which funds its logics in two of the most important features of the latvian landscape. the first is closesly related to the meterehology occurring in the territory of the kipsala island, these are the typical cloud formations above the bay of riga. the intention was to deepen them to understand how to organize the shapes & the volumes of the project, consequently lifting the building, simulation a vast & enormous air flo, but also so light & complex, able to float & contain the new functional program. the second aspect concerns the perceptive sphere & also the sturctural organization of the project; it sees the latvian forest as its protagonist, in particulare the feelings that a person encounters when is immersed in it, taking up the principles of the japanese practice of “shirin-yoku”, or “bath in the forest”, in which one they should receive benefits from the forest atmosphere thus becoming a concept to define the spatial atmosphere of the project. the techincal translation of these logics occurs through the architectural elements, playing with the simulations of nature, so the pillars immediately become the trunks, while the light filtered by  the envelope (composed by different layers of coating) performs the function of covering & facade of the building, reproducing the stratocumulus that hovers above the bay but at the same time, thanks to its porosity, becomes an instrument capable to simulate & filter the sunlight, emulating the sensation given throught tree fronds.<\/p>\n
