                      the project stands as an exhibition & catalyst center for the new smart city in xian designed by zaha hadid architects for the the chinese software corporation tencent holdings. the required themes were expressly to enhance & merge the topic of the silkroad with computer technology. the design logic’s aims to evoke a space capable to simulate the dualistic reality of modern life, playing between the physical & virtual reality. the aspiration was to create an interdependent system connection building & landscape but also working on the perceptive & philosophical sphere. the circulation becomes the main protagonist of the building linking conceptually the primary action carried out on the silkroad. the flow program is consequently essential, continuous & infinite based on the logic underlaying the mobious cycle in which there is a single continuous surface, the form, the program & consequently the whole building is determined by the flow, so the shape design is developed by the aerodynamic forces in a single building that seems to double, the idea about the dualistic concept of virtual & physical reality. the facade cladding was made in such a way that the drilling reproduced a map of the world, with particulare attention to the traditional countries crossed by the silkroad.
